New For 2022

Here are a few examples of new lines at GCP during 2022
African Lily. Dense heads of trumpet shaped flowers float above strap-like foliage on tall stems. The vivid, violet-blue at the throat of the flower fades to pure white edges, giving a striking colour to any border or patio container. Forms a drought tolerant clump.

AGAPANTHUS FIREWORKS

Produce masses of flamboyant blooms

This unique Buddleja, or 'Butterfly Bush' is hardy and easy to grow. Its tall, columnar habit forms a majestic tower of white flowers. Each flower is a valuable source of nectar for pollinating insects. This slender, hardy shrub is reliable and demands less space than traditional varieties, making it an excellent focal point in any garden.

BUDDLEJA BUTTERFLY WHITE TOWER

A unique Butterfly Bush

Ornamental quince. Deciduous shrub with large pink flowers borne on bare stems in the spring, offering bright, early colour. The dark stems are then flushed with bright green leaves, and from autumn time, large decorative fruits appear, giving a long season of interest.

CHAENOMELES EXIMIA

Early flowering, versatile shrub

A deciduous climber with deep purple flowers that begin single at the start of the year and develop into fully double blooms. Will bloom all summer long. Undemanding and easy to care for. Suitable for containers.

CLEMATIS KOKONOE

Long flowering period

Alpine Wood Fern. The unusually coloured, golden-orange fronds of this fern make a very eyecatching addition to any shaded areas. Fading to yellow and then pale green, the 'shuttlecock' like fronds die back over winter to regrow in spring, although in sheltered spots, it may retain them.

DRYOPTERIS JURASSIC GOLD

Thrives in shaded areas

This easy to grow perennial produces rich blue, butterfly shaped flowers on spikes above green, ovate leaves throughout summer. Very attractive to bees and butterflies. Thrives in moist soil. Will require some protection from severe winter frosts.

LOBELIA STARSHIP BLUE

Loved by garden pollinators

This Japanese anemone or 'Windflower' is a new introduction, bringing layer on layer of ruffled, pale violet petals to add colour to late summer and autumn. Attractive to bees and other pollinators.
Very hardy and easy to grow in patio containers or plant into any average garden soil, avoiding wet areas. This plant dies down in winter to regrow in spring.

ANEMONE FRILLY KNICKERS

Late summer colour

Ornamental quince. Deciduous shrub with double, peach-pink flowers borne on bare stems in the spring, offering bright, early colour. The dark stems are then flushed with bright green leaves, and from autumn time, large decorative fruits appear, giving a long season of interest.

CHAENOMELES CAMEO

Early flowering, versatile shrub

Ornamental quince. Deciduous shrub with large crimson flowers borne on bare stems in the spring, offering bright, early colour. The dark stems are then flushed with bright green leaves, and from autumn time, large decorative fruits appear, giving a long season of interest.

CHAENOMELES HOT FIRE

Early flowering, versatile shrub

An unusual, dwarf variety of Clematis that produces masses of lemon-yellow, nodding, bell-shaped flowers followed by fluffy seedheads. Compact and with a very long flowering period, it is perfect for patio pots or baskets. Hardy and easy to care for.

CLEMATIS LITTLE LEMONS

Dwarf, yellow flowering clematis

Produces masses of bright, double pink flowers with orange-yellow centres over compact green foliage. Hardy and easy to grow, the removal of spent flower stems encourages more flowers and longer blooming.
