Beschorneria yuccoides 'Flamingo Glow' ('Besys'PBR) (v)
Mexican Lily. Clump forming, with long, arching, strap-shaped leaves. The striking, creamy-yellow and green, variegated foliage provides great architechtural interest all year. In summer, mature plants can produce vibrant red-pink stems from which hang clusters of pink and green flowers.
Ideal for patio containers or plant in well draining soil. May need some protection from extreme winter wet and cold.
Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
