Arenaria montana 'Avalanche'

Mountain Sandwort or Mountain Daisy is a low growing, matt-forming evergreen, with small grey-green leaves and masses of erect stems holding white flowers with yellow centres. Perfect for rockeries or alpine gardens. Drought tolerant when established.

Plant Care

Excellent plant for patio containers or plant into well drained garden soil. Trim to shape after flowering. Protect from cold winter winds. Feed with a good liquid fertiliser every two weeks in the flowering season.

Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
