Cordyline australis 'Red Star'
A bronze-red variety of 'Cabbage Palm' with creamy stripes and margins to the long, strap like, arching leaves. A more compact variety of palm perfect for patio pots. Over summer, mature plants produce strong branches of fragrant, cream-white flowers followed by berries in autumn.

Plant into patio containers or any average garden soil, avoiding wet areas. Best planted away from cold winter winds.

Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
