RHS Plants for Pollinators

Salvia greggii 'Icing Sugar'PBR

An excellent, free flowering Salvia with two tone dark to pale pink flowers produced in abundance until the frosts. Spent flower stems can be trimmed out to encourage bushy growth and more flowers. May need some protection from severe cold spells. Aromatic foliage.

Plant Care

Keep well watered until firmly established. Plant into any good garden soil, avoiding wet areas. Trim to half height once the flowers have finished, and reduce again in late spring as growth starts.

Planting Instructions

Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
