RHS Plants for Pollinators

Salvia nemorosa 'Caramia'

This compact variety of 'Meadow Sage' is a profuse flowerer of rich purple blooms on dark stems, above grey-green, aromatic foliage. Its compact habit makes it an excellent plant for growing in containers or borders. Remove faded flowers to encourage re-blooming.

Plant Care

Keep well watered until firmly established. Plant into any good garden soil, avoiding wet areas. Trim to size and shape in early spring to ensure strong growth.

Height/Width

Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
