Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna'
This perennial sage is an outstanding new introduction. The aromatic foliage forms a strong bush with tall spikes of deep violet-blue flowers on dark coloured stems. Remove faded flowers to encourage re-blooming. Perfect for beds, borders or patio containers. Adored by butterflies and bees.
Keep well watered until firmly established. Plant into any good garden soil, avoiding wet areas. Prune after flowering to rejuvenate foliage. Trim to size and shape in early spring to ensure strong growth.
Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
