Pennisetum 'Vertigo' (P)
Forget everything you know about other 'Purple Fountain Grass' varieties - this one is different! This is a really big, dramatic statement plant for the summer border. It has big, strappy, arching leaves, which emerge in spring as mottled green-purple, gradually becoming darker and broadening into a sword shape as they mature.
Plant Care
Plant in any good garden soil, avoiding wet areas. Good for large patio containers or feature beds. Root ball may need protecting in severe winters.

Height/Width
Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
