Climbers Range

RHS Plants for Pollinators

Clematis texensis 'Princess Diana'

The beautiful dark pink, tulip-like flowers are produced from mid summer into the autumn months. A strong growing, climbing plant, suitable for training up walls, fences, pillars and trellis work.

Plant Care

Plant in any good garden soil, avoiding wet areas. In late winter/early spring, cut back all the old stems to the lowest pair of healthy buds 15-30cm (6in-1ft) above soil level.

Planting Instructions

Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
