Ceanothus arboreus 'Trewithen Blue'

This 'Californian Lilac' is a beautiful selection from Trewithen Garden in Cornwall. It bears large panicles of deep blue flowers with a light fragrance and has attractive, glossy, evergreen foliage. It forms an impressive spreading shrub or small tree. It will also grow well against a wall and will thrive in seaside gardens.

Plant Care

Plant in any good garden soil, avoiding wet areas. It may be kept smaller with a light pruning after each flowering in spring.

Height/Width

Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
