Crinodendron hookerianum
Chile lantern tree. A beautiful, ornamental, evergreen shrub, named after the lantern shaped, deep crimson flowers that hang from the undersides of its branches, contrasting beautifully with the dark green, leathery, lance shaped leaves.
Plant Care
A good plant for large patio containers. Plant in good, acid, garden soil, avoiding wet areas. Best pruned to size and shape once flowers have finished.

Height/Width
Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
