Ligustrum ovalifolium
Garden Privet is a fast growing shrub, perfect for creating a neat, dense hedge or for growing as a stand alone bush. Great for garden screening and tolerant of pollution. It is semi-evergreen so can lose some or all of its leaves in very harsh winter conditions, before coming back to life in spring. Very hardy and easy to grow even in coastal gardens.
Plant Care
Not fussy about soil types plant in any average garden soil, avoiding wet areas. Feed with a good general fertiliser in spring.

Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather.
