Elaeagnus x ebbingei Compacta
A compact, hardy, fast growing evergreen shrub with large, rich green leaves where silvery scales coat the surface. Makes an ideal compact hedge or free standing bush. Small, very fragrant flowers are produced in autumn. Prune to size and shape in spring. Tolerates coastal planting and poor soils.
Plant Care
Any average garden soil, avoiding wet areas. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser. Like all evergreens, it is best protected from very cold winter winds.

Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather.
